I am lucky... I just don't get any.

Interpret that subject heading however you like. :-)

Anyway... so yeah. I sometimes get customers complaining to *me* about how tight the casino is (I work at the buffet of a casino). They do this and I think to myself, And what do you want ME to do about it, exactly? Besides, they probably just have crappy luck. Because if not (and possibly even if so), then I must be a lucky charm for other people while I get none of the leavings. I say this because every time I go on the casino's boat (where the gambling is) to go to the Cage (where the money is kept) so I can get money for the register or drop money off or other similar stuff, every time I go on the boat I hear someone winning a LOT of money. Not like jackpots every time I go in, but the telltale sounds of someone winning at least 20 or 30 dollars. So either the casino isn't as loose as they say, or I am like a living rabbit's foot. (With four of those things you would think rabbits would have more luck. Maybe it's not quite enough. Let's design a rabbit with 13 legs!)

A rabbit with 13 legs

HA! Didn't get to sleep until after midnight last night, had to wake up at 5:20 AM and eat breakfast in the car. Delicious meal of Sun Chips and Malt-o-Meal brand "Honey Nut Toasty O's.&tm;" (Camera pans over to an over-smiling suited man holding a bag of said cereal)

"Yes kids, you heard right! Your favorite wacky superheroine FAYANORA eats Malt-o-Meal&tm; brand cereal! Malt-o-Meal brand Honey Nut Toasty O's&tm; - no one knows better than M.O.M.!"

(A second suited man pushes his way into the shot)

"This blog post is also brought to you by Sun Chips&tm;, the healthy, low-sodium, multigrain snack chip! Sun Chips&tm; - when you're hungry for delicious health!"

I took a nap, and it didn't help much.

That reminds me... when I had my first 6:30 to 3 shift, I went on the boat to get money for the register and was shocked to see people gambling already. It wasn't so much the fact that they were gambling that shocked me as the simple fact that they were awake at that ungodly hour by choice.

Chaotic Blessings;
---Fay

Apsitively posilutely!

As positive as the mutant lovechild of Mister Rogers, Bob Ross, and Barney the Dinosaur.

He is, indeed, the shitnit. Some of the characters in his world of makebelieve frightened me, though. They're still freaky, even now.

I liked the king, queen, and princess. It was that museum director puppet that freaked me out.

Liking Older Ladies

Speaking of which, my Aunt's ex asked me if "you were straight and I were straight would you find me attractive" (I think she was talking about how she's still attractive at 43; it was her birthday). I said yes. Apparently she forgot the bisexual thing. But she was drinking so. Then my Aunt comes in and she recounts our conversation to her. And so my Aunt's like "you know what that means. He's attracted to you!" ('cause apparently she remembered the bisexual thing - yay).

Casinos are rigged to be like that.
When you walk through the "boat" people will always be winning stuff because winning is really loud and noisy and losing is silent. It also takes a long time to win, they design it so each quarter pings individually.

This means people walk in and they think "wow look how many people are winning" and decide to spend "just a few quarters" at the slots.

There's no such thing as gambling. My friend "gambles" playing poker a lot, but he's good so he wins more than half of the time. When you "gamble" at a casino your not going to win. Even if the odds tilt your way and you come out ahead, unreliable money doesn't mean anything.

"as the simple fact that they were awake at that ungodly hour by choice."
For those people gambling is the only happy thing in their life. So basically they have to be at work by 9 or whatever, so the only time they can have some free time to themselves in during those morning hours.

Oh ya, and that crazy guy who got to this post first often wakes up at 4:30AM... Don't ask, I don't get it either.

The slot machines at the casino I work at don't take quarters or any other coins - just dollar bills and higher. Also slot play tickets and cashout tickets.

I have gambled twice, both times on the penny slots. I lost $2 each time, and quit. Mostly because Alexander nagged me more and more with every time I lost. Sometimes even when I won.

Yeah, table games would be best for real gambling.

Makes sense.

He is very cheap, yes. If it were up to him, we'd only spend money on the essentials. Of course, when it's his turn to find something he wants, then of course he gets it without as much hesitation. But we always hesitate, thanks to him, for at least 2 or 3 minutes when trying to decide to buy something or not.

That's a gross assumption. Some people just like risk. I like to put things in motion, even when I don't know what the consequences. That's gambling, and I do it because i like the risk.

I can't stand risk. Probably why I didn't like gambling.

Okay. I gamble with people. Much more interesting, especially if you don't care about the consequences (a risk in itself, since you don't know them).
