Dear Japan

Dear Japan,

I like most of the things that you send over to us here in the US of A, but I have to tell you, you can keep the thumb-sized, acid-spraying hornets to yourself.

Love,
Fayanora

Gods, and I thought wasps were bad. *Runs into a corner to cry*

I don't think any of the bugs on that list are anywhere NEAR where I live.

None of them are near me, but I'm taking no chances...

Makes me glad I live in Central Europe... and scared because Global Warming will help some of those nasty creatures invade our region...

Unlikely, on their own power, as they would have to cross the oceans or seas, and most bugs don't like to do that. They'd have to hitch rides from humans, in sufficient numbers to breed, in order to move to Europe. Which is possible, but after what happened when that guy cross-bred African bees with European honeybees (making killer bees), I don't think that anyone will be too keen on that idea.

Indeed! But I think the worst animal on that list, though, is the bot fly. They lay their eggs on your skin and their maggots eat your flesh. There've even been cases of bot fly maggots eating peoples brains. My shudders at the giant hornet were as nothing compared to my shudders about the bot fly. *Earthquake-level shudders*

Apparently their larvae are a delicacy, either deep fried or sashimi.
