You know you've watched too much Star Trek when you can identify the episode within the first 20 seconds without knowing the title.

CDs may hold only one episode (and still be *almost* half empty). Or not be able to hold one at all.

A new DVD burner for you computer would cost around $40. And be able to do CDs as well as DVDs.

If you can dig up the cash, I'll give you the $5 to pick up a copy of Cyberlink Power DVD with it (you don't need it, but a friend does, and they only sell it at the $65 price with a dvd drive).

You get a copy of Nero 7 with the drive, BTW.

I have Nero already and don't use it. All it does is annoy me.

Nero comes with the drives.

And I suspect I know what the annoying parts are. If I'm right, they can be turned off.

That they open things they're not supposed to, like image files?

As I suspected. Go into add/remove programs. Click on Nero and you should get an option to "modify" the program setup.

Uninstall "Nero Scout".

Then after that go into Nero itself and somewhere in preferences is the file extensions it want to be "responsible for" remove the ones you don't want it messing with.

Nero is far from alone in that sort of thing. Whenever I update quicktime or realp[layer, I have to run realplayer. Then run Quicktime and let it take back the stuff realplayer grabbed.

Then I run Windows Media Player and let *it* grab things back.

Then I run PMView (my graphics viewing/editing program) so it can grab back things. At least it has an option (which I have enabled) to ask me if I want it to take back control of things that aren't run by it anymore.
