Chicken and mung bean noodle soup

I discovered a few months ago that a kind of celophane noodle called mung bean noodles are delicious and absurdly cheap. I've gotten three 7-cup pots full of soup out of an 88 cent bag of noodles.

I love mung bean noodles so much! I've had other celophane noodles, like rice noodles, and hated them. But mung bean noodles are YUMMY! And they look a little like either blown glass or clear jellyfish tentacles, which I consider a plus.

Anyway, the soup I came up with is simple. But like the last recipe I made, it might not be exact, since I didn't use a recipe; I have a knack for tossing things together and it turning out good.

Chicken and mung bean noodle soup
(For a 7-cup pan)

* 1 section of mung bean noodles (in the bag I got, the noodles are in three sections, each section made up of noodles folded several times. One section is more than enough.)
* One 50-ounce can of chicken broth (though water and bulk chicken bouillon works too.)
* 1 or 2 cups cooked chicken, chopped or diced. (I used frozen chicken breasts)
* 1/2 cup bulk dried vegetable soup mix
* 1/2 of a 15 ounce can of corn

Soak mung bean noodles in cold water for 10 or 15 minutes, then drain. Bring the can of chicken broth to a boil, add mung bean noodles and vegetable soup mix. Reduce heat to medium, cook noodles until tender. Add corn and chicken, simmer for 5 minutes or until warm enough.

I actually added some black pepper and about half a cup of rice to the soup, too. If you have a large enough pot, you could add other veggies too. I even thought about adding tomatoes, but didn't have the room for them.

My thoughts on the Weiner "scandal"

So, Anthony Weiner has officially resigned. *steeples hands in thought*

I am so tired of this double-standard, that Republicans can get away with all kinds of shit, but if a Democrat does anything remotely questionable, it's this huge scandal that forces them to resign. So stupid! I think that if Anthony Weiner has to resign for showing an of-age woman his penis, that all the Republicans who have hired hookers, sexually harassed employees, raped women, or raped children should be fired or forced to resign as well. Of course, then we wouldn't have any Republicans left in office, but that sounds good to me!

See, there's the difference between the two parties. All politicians lie and do stupid things when they think nobody is looking, but with Democrats, it's cheating on their wives or sending naughty pictures of themselves to of-age women. But when Republicans do stupid things, what they end up doing is sexual harassment, rape, and child molestation because Republicans have no ethics. And morals have never been useful in reigning in behavior. Morals are rules imposed by an outside force; ethics come from within because you're a good person. Since all of the Republicans in power today are damned liars and sex offenders whose only real interest is in getting richer and making sure the super-wealthy get even wealthier, they expect the little people to follow their moral code while at the same time doing whatever the fuck they please. And yet people actually take them seriously when they talk about morality and ethics. It's sickening and disgusting.

I am so fucking tired of this bullshit where Republicans can cheat on their wives, hire hookers, sexually harass employees, and molest children without a problem, but a Democrat shows his cock to the wrong person or tries to seduce an intern, and it's front page fucking news until they resign or get impeached. Fucking damned double standard bullshit! And I'm especially tired of Republicans sucking strange men's dicks in bathroom glory holes and then turning around and spewing homophobic bullshit. Come out of the closet already, goddamnit! Stop being such a hateful asshat!

I say, fire every damn Republican in power and hold new elections, holding them to the same standard the Democrats are held to!
