Writer's Block: A political affair

Do you think the public has a legitimate right to know about a politician’s personal/romantic life? When, if ever, do you think a politician’s personal history is relevant to his/her ability to perform in office?
No I don't, and I really don't see how it's relevant to how they do their job.

Which reminds me... here in Portland there's this huge hullaballoo about mayor Sam Adams because he (an openly gay man) had sex with a younger man. Whoop de frakking do! In the first place, having affairs is a politician's rite of passage. Secondly, he's not even married, so it's not technically an affair! And why does anyone give a shit that's he's getting laid? The guy Mayor Adams boinked didn't work for him or have anything to do with anything that might be considered a conflict of interest, so WHY DO PEOPLE CARE?

For that matter, why is ANYONE'S sex life of anyone else's concern? Tiger Woods should have said, "What? I'm a celebrity. Fuck you!" in not so many words. It's nobody's business but his and his wife's!

Kid directing air traffic

There's a huge hullabaloo on the news that some air-traffic controller brought his kid to work and had the kid relaying air traffic info. The guy got suspended.

What I don't get is why it's a big deal; the father was there, and was only having the kid relay non-critical info. No one got hurt, and even if the kid hadn't done as he'd been told, no one would have gotten hurt.
