Steph perv

LazyTown's inherent kinkiness

I posted this story the other day. One person, gypsychick23, replied to it, saying the following:

since i'm being a nanny i have to sit through hours of lazytown lately. i'm just gonna put this out there....sportacus...is a pedo lmao. (link)

My reply to this comment was so hilarious to me that I decided I had to repost it in its own post. So here it is:
Indeed. A superhero who spends his time playing with kids and doing really banal stuff like rescuing kids from trees in a tiny little town when he has this awesome blimp and could be out somewhere fighting crime? Plus, it was a human child who brought him back to Lazytown. Definetely a pedo. :-) I imagine he left so long ago cuz he was like "Fuck this, there's nothing but puppets here. Puppet children are ugly." And then Stephanie came to town and got his attention and he was probably like "SCORE! Hot pink-haired human girl! HERE I CUM, LAZYTOWN!"

One kind of has to wonder about Robbie Rotten sometimes, too. He pretends to hate the children, but is always stalking them or tricking them (or in cases of like the pirate episode, playing with them), and focuses more attention on Stephanie than on the others. Only three humans (well, only three Organics) in the entire series, and they're probably in some sort of unspoken love triangle or some such.

And the fact that they say Mayor Meanswell is supposed to be Stephanie's uncle implies some sort of creepy human/puppet sexual relationship, with the possibility that Stephanie might be half puppet, which would explain the hair at least.

So when you get right down to it, the show as it's designed for the American version has all kinds of kinky shit built right into it, never mentioned, like a purple tentacle monster in the room.(1) At least all the characters in the original Icelandic version were humans. Still, for all its implicit kinks, the American version is only 10% as creepy and weird as the original Icelandic version. The original Icelandic version is so creepy I couldn't get through the first half of one episode.

Now I can't figure out if I like this show despite that, or because of it. :-)

(1) = This was an attempt to play on the phrase "like an elephant in the room."
