Tortilla question

Does anyone know why it is I can find corn tortillas in up to 90-count packs, but I look for flour tortillas and I'm doing good to find 20-packs?

Could be where you are shopping.

Have you tried WinCo?

Ah, I shall try that then.

I usually go to Safeway.

Winco is where you go for *bulk* food purchases.

Oh yeah, Safeway is also notorious for charging higher prices in "poor" neighborhoods.

Someone told me via email today that corn tortillas are designed with a higher shelf life.

I believe the cost of making corn tortillas is less than the cost of making flour tortillas. so they can afford to give you more of the corn tortillas in a package.

You're supossed to eat the flour tortillas in a few days, so I guess that's why they put less in the pack :)

Yeah, I heard the flour ones go bad faster. And that corn ones have lime (the chemical, not the fruit) in them, which prolongs their shelf life.
