Not being familiar with the details of the whole Anti-Christ bit, you may be unaware that one of the big details is that we *will* be hailed as a leader, etc.

In the situation presented (and a number of others) it can't be "just" a hard drive, because hard drives don't work that way.

and if it's boobytrapped at the hardware level, you *can't* clone it, because to clone it you have to be able to *read* the drive in the first place.

Cloning is good for situations where you've got a normal HD in a computer or other device that has BIOS or OS level protections.

You take out the drive, copy the raw data (even if it is encrypted, you can do that) and then work with the copy on a different computer.

But if the *hardware* is booby trapped, that's a whole different problem. If there's an explosive charge (or more likely, thermite) inside the drive and it needs some sort of access code before it'll allow you to access the drive, then cloning isn't an option.

Lots of top secret gear has self destruct charges on the classified chips, and on the hard drives. Though it's more usual to have it be a "flip this switch and the charges go off" setup.
